learning things
that can't be unlearned
questioning that
which i believed in the most
protecting myself
from the inevitable burn

if i could build walls
keep myself safe

hide away

inside my heart
i'd lose it
out there
caged inside
the inability to truly create

i make messes
clean up the uncleanable
i make apologies
to the undeserving
i make sacrifices
to the unworthy
and so
everything i've learned...
has changed...the unchangeable

marks on my heart
so careless and quick
